One of the best known and most popular natural spectacularities of the Mecsek Hills is the Abaliget Cave. It used to be mentioned as one of the one hundred natural miracles of the world because of its forms shaped by the erosion processes of the water.
A continuous exploration of the cave has revealed the 466 m long main corridor, in which one can easily walk, and three sub-corridors, where it is difficult to proceed. Invisibly to the human eye, the cave is still in constant change. This is resulted in by a creek, which accompanies the corridor in its whole length. Thanks to its air of 97% humidity and calcium ions, its climate gives a relief to those suffering from respiratory diseases, allergy or asthma. The cave can be visited in guided tours, started every hour.
