Gemenc is best known for its excellent wet habitats and floodplains. The animals often visit the lakes in the forests, you only have to wait in silence in order to see Black Storks, Great Egrets, Wild Boars eating water caltrop or deer herds coming to take a rest. There is always something happening that might be interesting for a nature photographer.

 

In the period between November and March the most popular is the photography from fixed stands. At this time it is important to decoy the animals you want to take photos of direct to the front of the stand.

 

The period of bird migration lasts from spring to autumn. At this time the most expedient way is to take photos out of a tent stalking. The photographer has the possibility to stay all day long on one certain place (e.g. the Báli lake). In this case the tent has to be occupied before dawn and the attendant picks up the guest before it is growing dark. It is also possible to interrupt the stay outside (especially during the hot summer months). In this case the attendant shows the guest to their quarters at around 9-10 o’clock, and at 15-16 o’clock he brings them back to the same or another spot where the guest can resume photographing.

 

At the end of August and in September, in the deer belling season, the tent stalking is rarely used, especially if the guest spends more days in Gemenc. Usually, the belling deer has to be stalked in order to take photos of it. This is the stalking photography. Of course, in this case, as well, you have to leave before darkess and the day can also be interrupted. In this case we carry a „light equipment” together – the attendant (usually) carries the camera stand. This photography method is used while taking photos of wild boars, roes or predators. Photography out of a tent stalking and the stalking photography can be used in one day, as well: one in the morning, one in the afternoon.

 

While taking photos of the landscape, the attendant stays with the guest as long as they whish to stay, ensuring a great variety of landscapes and the minimal disturbance of strict protected areas. There is an endless variety of subjects: deer herd swimming through a branch in a foggy morning, the view of the pinny trees, a group of wild boars in the snow etc.
