7625 Pécs, Tettye tér 9., Phone: +36-72/517-200 The arboretum is named after János Pintér, a retired bank officer of Pécs, who established the park in the 1920s. After his death, most of the gareden was occupied by natural forest communities, increasing the variability of species in the arboretum. So, today, an exciting mixture of species constitutes the vegetation of the garden. An number of protected plant species occur in this nice garden, including Butcher’s Broom (Ruscus sp.), Mezereon (Daphne mezereum), and even the Banat Paeony (Paeonia officinalis subsp. Banatica), which is under special protection, can be seen. Opening times: May 1 - Sep 30.: on workdays Mo-Th: 8.00-16.00, Fri: 8.00-14.00 Sat, Sun: 10.00-18.00 Oct 1 - Apr 30.: on workdays Mo-Th: 8.00-16.00, Fri: 8.00-14.00 Tickets: 400 Ft/person, under 2 y.: free. Guiding: 1500 Ft/group Booking is required for groups to have a guided visit in the Arboretum.
